The Hotel Tiferno collects 33 original graphics by Alberto Burri. In this collection the works of the artist enrich the walls of the Hall, Lounge, Bar, Corridor to the Restaurant and Breakfast Room, on the ground floor, to bring the Guest closer to the amazing world of the artist.
The Hotel is located just 150 meters from Palazzo Albizzini, headquarters of the Burri Museum, which collects 130 works, included in a chronological period from 1948 to 1989, such as,Tars, Moulds, Humps, Sacks, Woods, Metals, Combustions, Cracks and Cellotex, as well as sketches for Scenographies and some examples of graphic art.
The Ex Seccatoi del Tabacco, opened in 1990, is 900 meters from the Hotel, and represents a perfect example of the reclamation of industrial archaeology operated by Alberto Burri who imagined them as a suitable place to host his latest creations. There are exhibited 128 works (Major Cycles : Painting - Sculpture) produced between 1974 and 1993.
A new section of the museum (Permanent Graphic Works) opened on 12 March 2017 in the underground part of the immense Ex Seccatoi del Tabacco to display all the artist’s graphic work. The graphic works comprise 196 pieces produced between 1957 and 1994.
The Document Section (Document and Courses since 1915) completes the visit to the three museum collections of the Fondazione Palazzo Albizzini Collezione Burri in Città di Castello: Palazzo Albizzini and the other two housed in the Ex Seccatoi del Tabacco.
